Cremation Services

After your appointment, let us help you by respectfully caring for your deceased pet and arranging cremation.

At the end of your home euthanasia appointment, we can handle all transportation and cremation arrangements — there’s no need to worry about arranging these services with another company. The most common choices are:

Individual cremation

We partner with West Coast Pet Memorial Services to provide individual cremation services. With this service:

  • You receive your pet’s own ashes back for you to keep at home in their memory.

  • You receive your pet’s ashes in a metal or wood urn (see options below) and a clay paw print, both with your pet’s name.

  • Dr. Andrea gently transports your pet away from your home at the end of your appointment and we handle all arrangements for you.

  • In most areas of San Diego, we personally deliver your pet’s cremains back to you at home within 7 to 10 days. For more distant areas of San Diego County, cremains can be delivered back to your regular vet’s office for no additional charge or held for pickup at the crematory’s facility in Sorrento Valley for you to pick up at your convenience.

Communal cremation

  • Dr. Andrea gently transports your pet away from your home at the end of your appointment.

  • Your pet is cremated alongside other pets whose families also chose communal cremation.

  • Your pet’s ashes are scattered at sea afterwards by crematory staff.

Urn options for individual cremation

The blue metal vase-shaped urn shown below is our standard urn, and comes with your pet’s name engraved. If you prefer a wooden urn, the cedar monument urn and carved rosewood urn shown are also available. The cedar urn is engraved with your pet’s name, while the rosewood urn comes with a brass nameplate.

Please note that the cedar urn doesn’t have a removable lid (though the based can be removed via four screws if needed), while the carved rosewood urn can be opened via a sliding bottom panel.

If you have questions about other after-care options, please don’t hesitate to contact us and ask. We’re happy to either coordinate additional services with you or refer you to other resources for help.
